Ijmuiden cruise terminal

We made it to the cruise terminal, which is where I’m writing this post.  But it turned out to be more of an ordeal than we thought that it would be.  We took a tram that our tickets had expired for two stops to the bus that we needed all the way out to the port.  The tram driver was
nice enough to let us just go two stops without paying and directed us to the bus that we needed because we would have to pay in a different way there.  We waited for the bus which was late and the stop that we had researched was not on the list anymore.  The bus driver did
drop us off in Ijmuiden at the Fellison Cruise terminal, but only the ferry for England.  We walked a long way, with a nice couple from Marseille that didn’t speak much English and finally got to an information terminal that showed us several miles from where our boat was docked.  They called the 4 of us
a taxi and that is why we made it here, otherwise, we would still be dragging our bags all over this port.  We are now waiting to board and so far, I’m not impressed.  I hope that things turn around when we get on the ship, but I have to say that this is the most interesting crowd of people that we’ve ever boarded a ship with.  John is sitting here telling me about the “characters” around us including one guy called “the cleaner”.  One plus is only two kids have walked past.  So, we’ll see if this is our first and last cruise with this company or these ports or the start of a new love affair.  Either way, it’s going to be an adventure and I’ll post whenever I can.  Love, jo
