Japanese Garden

Back on a tram that we couldn’t find the right stop to for a while
and suddenly John and I needed an intervention from an international court.  We are great travel partners, obviously, or we wouldn’t do it so much, but there is inherent stress when you are in a foreign country  with unfamiliar territory and trying to figure out things while
someone else looks over your shoulder and questions things.  Notice that this goes both ways here, we both get tired of being wrong or being questioned, or getting screwed over by historic trams coming through the stops that we had planned.  We finally got on the right bus
and went out to the edge of the city for a Japanese garden in a huge city park that the guidebook mentioned.  We walked at least a mile into the huge park past sheep, soccer fields, family reunions, etc to the Japanese Garden that was CLOSED!!!
Sumabitch!!! Are you kidding me?  And Jo doesn’t know it yet, but it’s only going to get worse as the international town of justice is going to get very unjust.  Not only do they close their bars with bouncers and cover charges for the
Netherlands World Cup game, the trains and buses that we need to get home to Middelburg tomorrow are not going to be  running, hence the lack of ability to congratulate myself on a well-planned trip.  After wandering around to find a place to watch the game and
realizing there was none, we returned to the hotel bar to watch it there with other interested parties, which turned out well.  Even cops on horses wandered under the entrance awning to look in the windows to see how the game was going on our tvs.  A little grocery across the street had bugles chips and homemade Turkish Delight that was delicious.  So, it worked out well and after two overtimes and penalty kicks, we were able to go to sleep at 2am with another win for the Dutch.
