Another day of spending the morning in the hotel room with tylenol (or Europe's version of it) and advil dosing regularly, sleeping, resting and then daddy is done
for the day at about 2:30pm. I get to
get out and find
a cafĂ© to have some onion soup at while John rests again with a nap and Oscar playing with cars around him. We then plan a trip up Montmartre to Le Sacre Coeur because there is a funicular going up to it and that is one of Oscar’s only modes of transportation that he hasn’t tried or even seen. So, we head up there with only one student who wants to go with us and get a great view of Paris, walk through the sanctuary and around Montmartre. We find a place to eat and while
Oscar won’t even try the food, it’s not the best French food I’ve had and I have to say that my abilities are off this trip. I can’t seem to find my way around the city very well, go the wrong way in the subway stations, finding restaurants that aren’t good and haven’t had a good meal yet in Paris. That’s just the saddest thing ever, because every meal in Paris should be great. I’m going to blame it on Oscar’s sickness. But at least I’m still enjoying being
here. I’m not working, it’s pretty weather, and I’m seeing parts of Paris that I’ve never seen before. Usually, I’m moving so fast in this city trying to cram as much into the time that I have as possible that it almost becomes a burden to be here. So, this is definitely different.
