In Bruges

We make another train change and finally arrive in Bruges where they have changed the train station, so John and I are confused at first and afraid to get everyone off the train, but we find out it’s the right place.  Rachel and Oscar and I take a taxi again, while John hikes the students across Bruges to the hotel.  It’s a nice place again, but the students are psyched when they finally get there because they had to come through the huge party that is going on in Bruges right now because their soccer team just won the championship.  Apparently, we just missed a parade with the queen.  John and Rachel and I go to get some dinner and as we turn left out of the hotel, I see the restaurant that John loved so much the last time that we

were here.  Where he found his beloved Corsendonk beer that he now gets by the case from a guy in Grand Rapids.  He almost starts to cry, because he’s John.  We head in and while they don’t have the Apple White beer I liked so much last time, they do have Flemish Stew which is the best comfort food in the world.  The frites come with everything and taste delicious dipped in the stew sauce.  So, it’s a good start to Bruges.  Oh, and I better put the name here because John spent forever scouring my blog and his facebook for the name of the place, Dell Arte.  If you're ever in Bruges, we highly recommend it.  I'll also highly recommend Hotel Marcel if you're in Bruges too.  The rooms were nice, some of the staff are awesome (mainly Charlotte) and the laundry is right next door.  Breakfast is great, they have a bar and cafe.
