Hanging and watching bowl games

Not a lot to report in Timber Pines, but we are enjoying driving
a rare Durr family sighting
Nana and Poppy’s golf cart, playing bocce and swimming in their pool.  I like this little community and know why a lot of Canadian Lakers come here for the winter, but compared with Canadian Lakes, it’s run by Nazis.  John wanted to look up if we could bring our own drinks to the pool and found
don't splash or yell son
their 96 page rule book online.  We couldn’t find where it said anything, so we kept our drinks in a bag on the downlow in case it’s not allowed.  And they are serious at their pools.  Every 5 minutes a worker comes out of the lodge and walks around the entire pool area watching everybody, everything and correcting kids that are having fun, because we’re pretty sure that’s not allowed in the pool here.  I’ve never seen anything like it and I get
they might be having too much fun
it, it’s an over 55 community, they are the ones that have to live here and want the rules the way that they have them, but it just seems very ridiculous.  Mom tells me how they used to not allow people to have dogs in here, but then relented for people to bring in their dogs from previous homes and then have now gone to wanting a “dog park”.  And they’re horrified that this could happen.  I am reminded of the incredible range of attacks on ideas in our community and all the things that people whine about at home.  At least there’s not snow on the ground and

you can walk here.  I’ve gone walking by the golf cart while Oscar learns to drive.  It’s not a New Year’s resolution really, but I have decided that I  have to shoot for some form of exercise every day.  If I shoot for EVERY day, maybe I’ll actually make the 3 days that you’re supposed to for health….how pathetic is that?  At least I
playing with all the toys left after mailing some home
know my limitations and weaknesses.  I mean, when I set my goal on Goodreads for 50 books to read this year, I’m at 80 right now.  I have a feeling that I won’t overshoot my goal on exercise in that manner…. We went and saw Mary Poppins one day and Oscar sat through a two and a half hour ordeal with only 3 bathroom breaks, but I think it was just to move around more than anything.  My God, what were they thinking to make a kids’ movie so long?  It was a good movie and at least it didn’t ruin Lin Manuel Miranda for me, but they really could have cut out Meryl Streep.  How often do you hear that said about a movie?
