Museum of Childhood in Edinburgh

The next day, we head out to the Museum of Childhood.  We had

an idea in our head of this and it doesn’t come close.  There are a lot of things behind glass of old toys, old dolls, toys through the years, but none of them seem even close to the time when John and I were kids.  So, not sure how useful this is.  Oscar said that he liked the Railway museum much
more and seems much more excited about the fact that we bought the bagpiper figure that he wanted to get the other day.  We stopped most of the groceries and stores between us and the Royal Mile, pharmacies and beauty supplies to find out that there is no hand sanitizer in the city.  Rubbing alcohol is
also gone from the pharmacy, but I finally find aloe vera gel and rubbing alcohol at a hair salon supply store.  So, we’re making our own and found antibacterial wipes at one place.  So, we feel like we’re prepared for the next part of our trip.  We have a train ride and plane ride in the next week. We
are finally being slapped in the face by the hoarding that is going on, the panic and unbelievable over and under response.  The US government said today that no American should go on a cruise ship, but our Italian cruise company that we’re on in April still is not offering any change in plans when we port in Italy and multiple ports won’t let boats dock or let people in to get on the boat to begin with.  So, we’re faced with what is going to happen to our carefully crafted travel plans?  After several minutes of pure panic and pulling up flight plans and other things, we check ourselves and decide that we will carry on as scheduled and just see where our travels finally get stopped.  We’re pretty sure that we’re going to be locked out of some point of our travel, we’ll just see where it finally happens and roll with it then.  I feel better in making my own hand sanitizer and having the wipes, the fact that we will have a car in Germany next week and can leave or stay based on how much we feel safe or in danger.  There are not that many stays planned in Germany, so it will be more fluid and it will just have to do.
