More Art in Chicago

Unfortunately, John had to leave to catch a train home to teach class early Tuesday morning, but I didn't have to leave.  So, we ran through some of the second floor and he got to some of the vast collection of Impressionism before running for the door.  I got to stay and
go back for pictures of everything that we had come through.  I wanted to get some good panoramic pictures of the Renoir and Monet rooms so you can get a feeling for standing in a room where you are surrounded by these paintings all around you.  It is always
awesome to see all of them together and never loses its magic.  It was hard to see John go, but I did get to enjoy the museum some more, go to the library to see the Tiffany glass domes with mosaics around them.  Unfortunately, the soft pastels do not show up well in the pictures, but I did get to see some more cultural and art information at the library before going back to the hotel to meet Ali for dinner.  We decided that meat was on the agenda.  So, we walked to
Weber's across the river and had a great sangria and limoncello cocktail.  While my brisket and ribs were great, Ali out ordered me with a filet and bleu cheese that was it was not necessary to have teeth to eat...seriously.  We were fortunate (for me) that we found a used book store on the
way back across the river.  I was glad that John was not there and I have to say that if you are a book hound like us, you should try to visit After-Words bookstore behind the new Trump Tower.  http://www.after-wordschicago.com/
