Full Day in Dublin

Okay People,
I know that I have been remiss in my posting, but everyone knows that Jo has no discipline.  I'm going to try to get better by starting with finishing the rest of the posts from Europe in March of 2013 that never made it into the blog.  If you've seen this before, disregard, but there might be new pictures attached to it...
Jonathan Swift as Dean of St.Patrick's
I am writing this post in the hotel pub because I have finally lost my husband.  But Jo, you guys seemed like you were so in love… yes, we still are in love, but John has found a trifecta that I can’t compete with.  He is currently watching Gaellic rules football on one screen, UEFA
John's "new" love affair

soccer on another screen, drinking Guinness and having pub food that always includes French Fries and says, “this is bliss”.  He is talking to the tv like he does during hockey and he doesn’t even know this sport.  He keeps saying things like, “I don’t know Gaellic rules football, but that looked like a yellow card to me.”  OH MY GOD!!!  How can a girl compete with Dublin?  While I am drinking water (I already had a pint of Kilkenny red, so don’t get on me), typing on the computer because I have no interest in either of these sports, I can say that I’m pretty impressed with a pub that chicken curry as the dish of the day and braised lamb shank in burgundy sauce as one of the 10 euro meals.  These dinners were exceptional and we may never leave this hotel bar.
The day started out well with us deciding to get the hop on hop off bus to see Dublin because just walking into the city center from the hotel last night hurt my feet.  These buses run in all the big cities and I have to admit, we should have gotten one

for the few hours that we were in Barcelona.  So, this was my first time on a bus like this and I have to admit that they are not for me.  I thought that we would be able to get on and off for two whole days and it would take us everywhere we wanted to go.  Well, it does in a way, but only from 9:30 to 5 and only on their prescribed route that if you just want to go a bit back from where you are, you have to go through the whole 45 minute route to get back.  So, you might as well walk.  Also, John
and I can’t do anything fast when we do hop off (it took us an hour and half to see the Book of Kells at Trinity University), so we can’t make the most of the time on the bus.  We were able to take lots of pictures as we went around the city and get the lay of the land, so I guess it was worth it.
