Newgrange in Ireland

I wanted to go out into the countryside and see some of the ancient mounds that dot Ireland, but we were having the hardest time setting this outing up.  The main day trip company that our hotel uses wasn’t going there, the one that they had a brochure for was full, and it wasn’t until we found an eco trip brochure at
the tourism office that we found someone going out there.  The hotel called to make a reservation and there was no answer because it was late at night, but they were going to try again in the morning.  So, we went to sleep not knowing what we were going to do on this day.  This morning, Alisha, who works
at the hotel called to say that we could make the 11:30 tour out to Newgrange.
We took a winding route to the bus stop that had me threatening John’s life because we went so far out of our way and didn’t use the bus pass that we still have.  But I was the one that wanted to take a different route into the city, so I think that my defense in court would fall apart a little.  We did get to see the impressive Aviva stadium on this walk and got to have a coffee on Grafton Street before getting on the bus.  John was waiting by all the other bus stops on the

street, but his wife is smarter and walked over the hill, “Just to check” and found the bus.  We got on as it was just arriving with several other couples and then we were missing 4 people.  John told the driver that he had been waiting down by the other buses, and shocking, so were these 4.  After an hour drive outside of Dublin we were at the Boyne River.  Next time, I’m going to come to Ireland and just spend a week in the Boyne River Valley area.
