New Year's

We got really tired leaving Nette’s and while we were on I-75, the desire to just keep driving and go home where things are familiar and comfortable was overwhelming.  John and I were bickering and not
communicating well, which is uncommon for us, especially when we are traveling, but we were both acting as if Sibyl’s death was not effecting us.  We got through Atlanta traffic okay and got to Kevin and Lori’s
around 7pm.  And what a distraction three little kids who are really excited to see you can be.  We were treated to a production of the Nutcracker that they had planned, we were given lots of good food, able to laugh, watch kids open
Christmas presents that were either too old or too young for them, and basically believe that life goes on.  Kevin had given the most beautiful eulogy at Sibyl’s funeral and it seems that he and John keep getting closer over the years to the point that
Lori and I have trouble telling them apart at times when they acting crazy together.  The kids treat John like a big jungle gym and he enjoys the roughhousing.  At least he’s putting someone more flexible than me in the Boston Crab.  I got some
really great deals at the outlets there and we were able to watch bowl games, and be normal for a while.  We went to our annual hockey game that we always take the kids to and it was sad how empty the arena was, how bad the Gladiators were, but Kevin Ward joined us for the game and it was good to spend some time with him.  John convinced Kevin that we
should try out the Andretti racing place in Georgia, so we piled into the car and he got the kids super excited about racing, but only with someone else driving.  John raced in 3 races, improved his time each time, and came away sweaty and arms aching.  The kids played video games and basically lost a lot of money for Kevin and Lori, I remarked that this place was
like a casino where you never come out a winner.  Overall, a good visit and a good way to ring in the New Year.  I have to say that the puzzle pictured above, clearly said on it 12 and above.  None of these kids is above 8, but Lori was able to put it together.  I couldn't do it people, and this was a beginner 3D puzzle.  I was able to help Camryn with her 100 piece puzzle though, but she didn't really need my help.
