Toronto-- The first trip with the Bean

It seems like the days of John and Jo packing the night before a trip and waking up 20 minutes before we want to leave are over.  The Bean requires more preparation than that.  We can still pack the
night before , but the new list of crap that needs to come with us is long and unfamiliar for us still.  John thinks that this will get better as Oscar gets older, because we won’t have to bring diapers, formula, bottles, and a bed for him, but he also is much easier to handle in the car right now because he’s not mobile.  It took us 10 hours in the car to get to the hotel in Toronto yesterday and the main delays were me and Toronto traffic.  I had to stop at every bathroom we passed and we spent an hour in Midland eating
for those of you who don't know, Oscar hates the sun
lunch slowly and walking around Meijer getting last things that should go with us in order to make sure that I could continue this trip.  Oscar slept all the way to Midland, looked around Meijer and played while we ate lunch.  Then he slept again until Lapeer with a bottle until Port Huron.  We got to

stop and get a picture in front of the Blue Water Bridge that we would take over to Canada and let the little guy stretch his legs.  He just stood on my lap looking at everything in Pine Grove Park which was a great place to stop and see how unbelievably blue the water of Lake Huron is.
