the last of Costa Maya

John and I have both gotten to feel the exhilaration of returning to
port without the Bean tagging along, he in Belize and me in Guatemala, but because John is sick, I get a second chance while he naps with Oscar.  Julie and I grab some lunch and leave the kids with the males to return to port for presents for home, Christmas presents for
the kids, and general souvenirs.  We have a lot of luck in the stores for presents and I ask about some tequila and we get brought to a souvenir hut where they pull a bottle of tequila out of a box that is covered over with other products.  It's on the down low and sketchy, so we
pass even though they offer us a taste.  We find some cool laser cut coins that are necklaces for the boys and then realize that there was a massage place we could have gone to when it's almost time to be back on the boat.  We decided to grab a beer to drink while
walking back to the boat and Julie thinks that shots of tequila are more appropriate.  The shots were cheaper than the beers, but you needed the beer to wash down the awful taste of the tequila.  Again, we're on vacation though and it's our last stop, so we go out with a bang.
Of course, the pier is not open to bottles, so we have to chug our beers when we thought that they could be a nice leisurely drink, but are back on board the boat 6 minutes before schedule, which is most likely the latest that I have ever boarded a boat, but it was worth it.
