Christmas again at Nana and Poppie's

I’m trying to get caught up on the blog before the next trip which is just a couple of days away.  I need to be brief about the time at Nana and Poppie’s because who wants to hear about a normal
family Christmas when this is a travel blog?  But a few things worthy of reporting in and around Timber Pines.  The first day off the boat, we got to rest some and saved actual Christmas and
presents for the next morning because you can’t put on pajamas in the evening and open presents….it’s just unnatural.  (But in looking at the pictures, I notice that we obviously did it that night) and Oscar was interested in
his toys this time instead of the wrapping paper, so we’re obviously growing up.  By this time next year, I’ll be able to hear “aw, mom, this is the wrong one, I wanted the super-duper version
of XYZ…”  We had a lovely Christmas dinner with all the trimmings because mom can’t not create a large meal for a holiday.  The next day we got to go to Homosassa  Springs to try to see some
manatees.  We got to get some great pictures of other animals and Oscar really enjoyed the reptile house because I think that he thought that the turtles in the aquarium were waving at him as they swam against the glass.  He seemed to enjoy watching the bears
move around, but I think that John, Mom and Dad and I got more out of it than him.  No manatees though.  We got to take the boat back to the visitors’ center and our days are still centered around Oscar’s naptime.  I don’t want to lose naptime because I like the break in the day and
feel perfectly fine taking a nap myself when he is, but at the same time, it’s hard when you’re traveling to plan a day around a midday break and return to the hotel or home for rest.
