jackets, new shoes, new purses and bags as the leather markets in Florence always live up to expectations. We were able to get a reservation for 12 that night and see some of the city in it’s lit up glory. We walked along the Ponte Vecchio, but all the shops are closed this late at night. Florence has been good to us in that it is easier to navigate on foot, feels less hectic than Rome, and the students have some experience in a foreign country behind them, but this also means
that they feel comfortable going out and partying all night long. So, we now have underage students going on drinking binges and stuff since they can. Rachel and John kind of get green when they hear the stories the next morning of how
late they were out, or who vomited last night (from too much chocolate they say) and I kept worrying that we had a stomach flu going around, but I don’t think so. The only things that I’ve had to give out of my mobile pharmacy that I brought
with me has been allergy medications, pepto bismal, and moleskin for
blisters. So far, we’ve been doing good,
but it is definitely spring in Italy and everyone forgot allergy
medication.
