Margaret was able to leave
today because while her train from Lille to Bordeaux isn’t running, there is a
later that is. John went to class
and found out that he is going to get paid for this teaching job over here (really there was a just a question of the amount) and we had to fend for ourselves for food with Margaret not here to cook for us. We went out into the market because it’s market day again and the town was reallybusy today. I guess that it looked less like rain than last week, also there seems to be some kind of flower and band event that seems like some kind of veterans celebration, but we can’t be sure of anything. I did break down today and buy clearance yarn that was on sale and a crochet hook. I can’t help it if I feel like crocheting because it feels like winter here!!! We feasted on a whole bunch of leftovers, plus fries, lamb, and stroopwaffles from the market. The fries are available all the time, the stroopwaffles are made fresh on market day and will be eaten every Thursday until we come home. It smells like a funnel cake, looks like a waffle cookie with some kind of carmelized syrup in the middle.
