Copenhagen

We did make it to Copenhagen early in the AM and John and I were up by 6:20, out of the ship by 7:15am.  They never announced that we could get off the ship which we expected them to do since they needed to collect our passports for this stop.  But we were able  to get off the ship and walk straight into town.  We docked with all the other cruise ships in a port that was central to the sights and
able to spend 4 and half hours rambling around Copenhagen to their shopping district, Parliament, churches, University, and Palaces.  The queen was actually in residence because the flag was flying and we were able to catch the very beginning of the changing of the guard, but had to leave to get back on the boat.
We saw all the major sites I think and this is another very pretty place, I’m liking all the Nordic areas better than Russia or Estonia.  John states that he still has liked Stockholm the best.  Stockholm felt very large and complicated though, Copenhagen felt like you
could walk it and get around pretty easy without some complicated public transport system.  They have the systems, we just didn’t have to use them this time.  I have hurt my foot pretty bad back in Estonia and have been babying it the rest of the trip,  but after a sea day, I was able to walk the entire 5 hours we were off the boat.  I was helped by the fact that Copenhagen is not made
up entirely of cobblestones like every other city we have been to.  Those things hurt and your foot has to grip them, which is what makes the arch of my foot get a shooting pain to the point that I hobble.  So, I’m happy with just some asphalt at this time.
