finally got to see the family

After getting through the border and stopping at the first possible
place to get gas, go to the bathroom, we decided that we would wait until the toll road to get lunch just to get on the way.  At the toll service area, I kept watching the CNN that was on the tv to see about the incredible sting at the Canadian border, but there was nothing.  At least the drive through
upstate New York and down into PA is uneventful, but hampered by the fact that we don’t want to stop for wifi and my brother is so GPS driven that he doesn’t know how to tell us how to get to his own house.  So, we stop one last time while they all pile in the car to meet us at the interstate
and we pass each other so the house is empty when we arrive.  This was a good thing because I don’t think anyone wants their first exposure to Oscar to be when he has a dirty diaper, so that was changed and he was ready to be smothered by cousins and uncle.  He spent about 5 minutes looking overwhelmed and trying to find John and I and then was full on
trying to get a picture of baby toes
ready to be swooped around the room by Michael or loved on by Gabby, but he just wanted to hang onto Katherine’s hair the whole time, so there were lots of coy smiles sent her way.  After ordering enough Chinese food for an army to eat, we settled in and played “salad bowl” for want of a better way to describe a game where everyone puts names on paper in the bowl and you play password to get your team to guess the person.  We played battle of the sexes and the girls won of course.
