coming back to Georgia

We made it into Georgia and have decided on some back roads out
of Tifton to make it to Glenwood.  We exited and found ourselves on Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway.  This caused me and John to look at each other, but I think that Georgia is required by law to have some memorial to the president of the confederacy.  And like I told John at least they picked this tiny road that most people would never see, but then we ran into the historic marker ahead and had to stop to read
it.  We found the state park that was the site that Jefferson Davis was captured by Wisconsin and Michigan troops on his run away from Virginia when the confederacy was falling.  We found that interesting and I guess worth some informational marker.  We then kept driving and at a light, the road changed to MLK Jr Memorial Highway.  I figured this was some lawmaker trying to mitigate the damage from Jefferson Davis highway coming in.  I love this country and our
contradictory things that we want to do with our history.  It makes me laugh out loud.  We made it into Glenwood and in to see Nette for her 81st birthday, but Oscar’s congestion is worse and he seems out of sorts, so I’m taking him to a doctor in the morning before the rest of the family gets here.  John thinks that I’m overreacting, but I’m not wanting to have a sick kid on New Years Eve and New Years and have trouble finding a doctor to take him to, so I set out for Vidalia.  No onions and no pictures of the doctor’s office, but I was able to find a pediatrician that would take a walk in from Michigan and he got tested for a respiratory virus that’s going around, but was negative and while he didn’t have a fever or any other symptoms and has been sleeping good, the kid has his first ear infection.  Great!!!!  So, now we have antibiotics and a steroid from the drug store in Glenwood and I left Oscar in the car sleeping while I ran in to get the drugs, so CPS in Georgia can also be called now….
