We had a Monday with full work days for all of us. Oscar had his Thanksgiving party on
zoom with his class, John had several zoom classes and office hours and I had a full day of seeing people. Luckily, the wifi was up to it all with a little help from the wifi hotspot on one of the phones. John and Oscar went down to the tracks to catch a train on video and found the one time period that there were no trains going through Litchfield. They were at the tracks with onlya bathroom break at the house real quick for 3 hours before they finally got the video they were wanting. We got to get some more baked goods from Jublets and had dinner from somewhere else that didn’t really impress. We also started the packing because it’s amazing how much we as a family can spread out in a few days. We did get to watch Pets 2 and Jingle Jangle while we were hanging around in this place, so a
good start to our little trip. Oscar is still on Michigan time, so we’re up and out of the house early to get on the road to Oklahoma. We get to see St. Louis one more time as we go through and head through Missouri. We look through the National Parks passport book and see that there is a Civil War site at Wilson’s Creek where the first Union General fell in battle. They had a drive through loop
of the battlefield with the cannons still placed around and it was a great little stop. We were the only people out there again, so the National Parks are really working out well in the time of COVID. We also had told Oscar that he could get a treat for being so good at the Sistine Chapel exhibit, putting up with mommy and daddy working all day on Monday and he wanted a hot wheel, but at a stop for gas, there was a billboard for a rock shop and I offered him rocks instead. He definitely thought that was a great idea and he and I were the only ones in a great little shop with all kinds of wonderful rocks in the middle of Missouri. We were able to pick out an obsidian arrowhead, an agate slice, and some other colorful polished rocks that will be perfect for a growing collection. I used to love to collect rocks and I think I
might enjoy the hunting even more than Oscar, but he gets excited about it too. We were going to stop at the George Washington Carver National Historic Site too, but it started raining cats and dogs, so we mowed through.
