Because Dave had deadbolted the door, Nate couldn't get in and had to call, which caused John to turn over his water glass onto the phone. The phone then kept calling the front desk for the rest of the night. Luckily we had decided on a boys' room and a girls' room, so the rest of us slept through the night.
One phone down and it was just the first night. So, we left for the speedway and I have to say that it felt that Indy was not ready to have people there. And here comes the rant. We pay $5 to park in order to be close to the car in case storms come through in the day (and that's another rant), but you drove way away from the speedway for the Indy parking and the parking lot grass was not mown, you felt like you were slogging through a field that would swallow you, cars were getting stuck in the mud, and then there was not enough people checking bags, taking tickets, so the line went out into the street for some distance.
