a rant....

John has found the cheap alcohol around here and there are already
several bottles of scotch that will be making their way back with us to Michigan.  It’s a good thing that there are no customs, duties or other problems on this trip because he doesn’t seem to be holding back.  And at California prices, why should you?  The one thing that is cheap around here is good liquor and John was able to find Backwoods Bastard and KBS
here in California from Founders brewery in GR after it has been sold out in Michigan for months.  You would think that I found my favorite yarn in a discount bin….We’ve been a bit horrified from the stories that Brenden is telling us about school.  He is a junior and was talking about the fact that they watched Forest Gump in history class again.  Let me repeat that.  They watched Forest Gump for its historical context in history class
AGAIN!!!!!!!  Brenden even said how his teacher said that they were currently studying Vietnam and the Black Panther movement, so it’s appropriate.  OH MY GOD!!!!  I’m thinking that home schooling might not be a rule out any longer.  He also has gotten hit, had things thrown at him and was kicked out of English class the day after the election for wearing his Trump hat.  Now, anyone who knows me knows how I feel about the current President of the United States, but what the hell is going on at a high school where the
kids can’t even vote!?!?!?!?!?  Brenden’s 17, he didn’t make anything happen in this last election, so what the hell are people thinking.  Especially a teacher?  And now home schooling is looking even better.  Because of my job, I know that things are bad in the schools with learning issues, testing constantly, and bullying, but it still feels that it might be not that big of an issue until you hear stuff like this.  Or it’s happening to your kid.  Give the kid credit, he’s still wearing his hat and most likely feels like James Dean in his rebelliousness.  When did wearing a hat supporting the winning candidate before an act of rebellion?  Oh, irony.
